Leading Dundee hotel, Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, is preparing to bring further events and conferences to the city, by offering a unique pop-up space to the flourishing quayside.
The Apex Marquee, set to be installed this October, will become Dundee’s premier events and conference space, providing a stunning location for large scale business dinners, away days, weddings and festive parties to suit all tastes.
With the spotlight firmly turned on Dundee as the eagerly anticipated V&A Museum gets set to open its doors, Apex City Quay & Spa hopes that its unique events space will capture the imagination of business leaders and decision makers looking to host conferences with a difference.
The Apex Marquee, can accommodate over 700 guests - making it the largest premier business event space within the city.
The first event to mark the arrival of the Apex Marquee will be The Courier Business Awards, taking place on 27 October, and will provide the perfect location to celebrate the best of Dundee’s business community at the glittering awards ceremony.
Angela Vickers, CEO of Apex Hotels, said: “Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa has a long association with The Courier Business Awards and we are delighted to be continuing this into 2018, not only as proud sponsors of the Small Business Award, but as hosts once again for the prestigious ceremony.
“The Courier Business Awards will be the first of a long line of events to take place here at the Apex Marquee and we are confident that with Dundee flourishing and so many businesses in the city doing great things, that our events offering will be able to attract both national and international conferences to the city of discovery.
“With the hotel’s multi-million pound refurbishment having just been completed and the property consistently voted number one within the city, our new premier events space, the largest in Dundee, will add another option for those looking to host an event with a difference.”
With an estimated 500,000 new visitors expected to visit Dundee when the V&A Museum opens its doors in September, Dundee and Angus Convention Bureau believe the city will be able to attract more business to the region.
Karen Tocher, Business Tourism Manager at Dundee and Angus Convention Bureau, said: “Business Events is hugely important to the local economy of Dundee, Angus and the wider region, contributing over £68million to the local economy last year alone.
“Having the infrastructure in place to host complex international events cannot be underestimated in attracting conferences to the area and with Business Events set to grow further as the new V&A opens to the public, having premier event spaces, like the Apex Marquee, will help us drive the city forward.”
