Black Friday is a good opportunity to grab a bargain on things you have your eye on, or to get something you were planning to buy as a Christmas gift. A good strategy is to research the products you want in various retailers and looking at the price history. If you have an idea of how low the price can go, as well as the usual retail price, you should be able to determine the real deals and see if the ‘sale’ price is as spectacular as it seems.
Sign up in advance
With so many people online vying for the best deals, websites are often super slow or even crash with the sheer volume of people trying to ‘add to basket’. To get ahead, open online accounts with your favourite shops and pre-enter your payment and shipping details to save precious time. It’s also worth signing up to any newsletters and reward apps that retailers offer for extra deals and early access to sales.
Remember price matching
Many shops will offer to price match on Black Friday including big retailers such as Currys. Even if shops don’t offer this, it’s worth hanging on to any receipts and keeping an eye on prices - many will agree to refund the difference if the price drops after you’ve bought something.
Get in early
The early bird catches the worm, or in this case the best deal! Many discounts drop at 12am on the big day so get up early (or stay up late) to log on and save as the best deals will be snapped up fast. It’s also worth keeping an eye out on retailers before the day itself as some have been known to run promotions for the whole month!
