For two decades at Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, guests have enjoyed a unique hospitality experience. We've heard voices, shared stories, and created lasting memories. We’ve also become part of the fantastic community in Dundee and we wanted to give something back.
The team have raised a whopping £23,000 for those who need it most, through fundraising events since December 2022.
Some of the local charities supported include Dundee Bairns, Maggies Dundee, Culture Crawl, the Grey Lodge Settlement and more.
Team members in Dundee have their finger on the pulse of the community and were best placed to arrange the activities. To help tackle food poverty, they chose to support Dundee Bairns and spent time creating and gathering donations for over 100 festive hampers for families under pressure over the Christmas period. The team also enthusiastically took part in the Maggies Culture Crawl sponsored walk in aid of cancer patients and their families, raising a fantastic £3000 for the local centre.
There was also a fun quiz night, donated gift vouchers, and some staff also competed in a sponsored walk from Edinburgh to Dundee, took part in a charity golf day at Carnoustie and even completed a 100-mile Triathlon.
The final event was a glittering charity ball! The hotel opened its doors to Dundonians with close links to the hotel and the local community to come and toast the occasion and to support an extra push for funds through tickets and a grand auction.
